Our Statement of Faith
The GODHEAD
We believe there is only one true God (Duet. 6:4; Isa.45:21-22; John 5:43-44), eternally existing
in three uncreated beings (Ex. 3:14, Jer. 10:10, Matt. 3:16-17; 28:19, II Cor. 13:14, Jude 20-21)
known as the Trinity: God the Father (John 4:21, 23-24, Rom. 15:6), God the Son (Matt. 3:17,
John 1:1-5, Rom. 1:3-4), and God the Holy Spirit (Gen. 1:2, Matt. 1:18; 12:32, John 14:16-17).
SCRIPTURES
We believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration of the Bible (II Tim. 3:16; II Pet. 1:21; Rev. 22:18-
19), the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testament. The King James Version of the Bible is
the inerrant Word of God which is the final authority on all matters of faith and practice of life.
CREATION
We believe that God miraculously orchestrated all of Creation in six literal, twenty-four hour
days, without the aid of any theory of Evolution. We follow the order of Creation in the book of
Genesis in chapter one.
SALVATION
All of humanity past, present, and future are sinners, and therefore we cannot reach heaven on
our own accord. No matter the good works one will accomplish in their lifetime Romans 3:23
states, “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God;” Yes, Jesus Christ the Son of
God was born of a virgin and lived on earth for thirty-three and half years without sin because
He was 100% man and 100% God. Jesus died on the Cross for our sins and three days later by
the power of God He was risen from the dead! So what does this mean for you? Romans 6:23
tells us that “For the wages of sin is death:” the truth is that on our own the natural eternal
destination is hell, however, this verse contains a very powerful word, “but the gift of God is
eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Jesus died for you and I as our propitiation (satisfied
the wrath of God on our behalf) and all we must do is accept it by faith. Romans 10:13 declares,
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved”, illuminating the truth that
our only hope of salvation and spending eternity in heaven rests in our faith in the work of
Christ. At the point of salvation we put our faith and trust in Jesus Christ and we experience
regeneration, restoration, justification, adoption, glorification, and the indwelling of the Holy
Spirit until we leave this earth and ascend to heaven.
SATAN
We believe in the reality of the devil who was once an angel named Lucifer that rebelled against
God. It was he who tempted Eve in the Garden and prompted the fall of mankind into sin.
Presently, he is the god of this world, of sin, and lies, but there is coming a day when Christ will
return and Satan will be eternally judged.
THE CHURCH
We believe that the church as set forth in the New Testament has both a universal and a local
aspect. The church is the Body of Christ, of which Christ is the Head (Eph. 1:22-23; Col. 1:18),
the Bride of Christ (Eph. 5:23-32), and the Building of Christ (Eph. 2:19-22). Moments before
Jesus ascended to heaven He spoke not only to His present eleven disciples but unto the church
also, and He gave us the Great Commission (Matt. 28:19-20). The Great Commission, simply
put, is Evangelize the Lost and Disciple Believers, and this is the mission of the Church. This
takes form in learning about God [through preaching & teaching], praise and worship of God
[singing & testimonies], and growing with God’s children [prayer & fellowship] (Acts 2:41-47)
THE SECOND COMING
We believe in the literal return of Jesus Christ that will take place in the future at an instant
known only by God the Father. We believe this will begin when Christ parts the clouds to bring
all of God’s children to their eternal home; the dead and the living will meet Him in the air
(known as the Rapture). This event is imminent, meaning there is nothing else that must happen
before it takes place, the truth being that it could take place at any day, any hour, any moment.
We follow the chain of events of the end times given to us in the book of The Revelations in the
Bible.
OUR CHURCH COVENANT
Having been led by the Holy Spirit to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, and on
the public confession of our faith, having been immersed in the name of the Father, and of the
Son, and of the Holy Spirit, we do now, in the presence of God and this assembly, solemnly and
joyfully enter into covenant with one another, as one body in Christ.
We purpose, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christian love; to
strive for the advancement of this church in knowledge, holiness and unity; to promote its
spirituality; to attend its services regularly; to sustain its ordinances, discipline and doctrines; to
give it a sacred preeminence over all in its activities; to contribute cheerfully and regularly, as
God has prospered us, to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the
poor, and the spread of the gospel throughout all nations.
We also purpose to maintain family and private devotions; to train our children according
to the Word of God; to seek the salvation of our families and acquaintances; to walk
circumspectly in the world; to be just in our dealings, faithful in our engagements, and
exemplary in our conduct; to avoid all gossip, backbiting and unrighteous anger; to abstain from
all forms of activity which dishonor our Lord Jesus Christ, cause stumbling to a fellow believer
or hinder the winning of a soul to Christ; to be zealous in our efforts to advance the cause of
Christ, our Savior; and to give Him preeminence in all things.
We further purpose to encourage one another in the blessed hope of our Lord’s return; to
watch over one another in brotherly love; to remember each other in prayer; to aid each other in
sickness and distress; to cultivate Christian sympathy in feeling and courtesy in speech; to be
slow to take offense, but always ready for reconciliation, and mindful of the teaching of our
Savior, to seek reconciliation without delay. –Edify, Encourage, and Admonish.
We moreover purpose that when we remove from this place we will as soon as possible
unite with some other church of like faith and order where we can carry out the mission of this
covenant and the principles of God’s Word.
